the womb room podcast
episode 10:
your treatment options for hpv and cervical dysplasia (part 2)
Did you know that over 3 million women a year in the U.S. alone receive an “abnormal pap smear”?
I've been one of them – and even though I know now that abnormal results are not an emergency, I've felt the fear, anxiety and stigma that can come with the mysterious cervical exam.
Words like colposcopies, HPV, biopsies, LEEP procedures and cryotherapy start getting thrown around by providers, and it can get overwhelming fast – especially if you don't have someone you trust sharing the risks, benefits and alternatives.
I deeply believe that we can't make a true choice unless we have full information about our options.
And, when it comes to your healing and your cervix, you have a right to know how to care for your own sacred health – and be supported in a way that aligns with your Truth.
That's why this week on the podcast, we're getting into part two of my series on cervical health, by digging into the risks and benefits of conventional medical treatments for cervical dysplasia and HPV – and the alternatives that you typically don't hear about.
You'll learn:
The actual risks of LEEP procedures, colposcopies and more
Why you might consider these – and why you might not
The impacts on our fertility, pleasure, and long term health
How we can heal from past procedures (your body is resilient!)
Alternative approaches, and what root-cause cervical care looks like
