You are in a baptismal moment. Heed the instructions of the Negro Spiritual —

Wade in the Water.

Spirit has created a baptismal pool for you in order to soothe your nervous system, so that you can have a deeper understanding and awareness of your psychic and spiritual abilities.

It is difficult to access our magic when our nervous system is overworked. It can become virtually impossible to access the medicine that the divine has given us for our collective liberation if our bodies are overwhelmed. Our magic sits in our intuition, and when we are in a constant state of “fight, flight, freeze,” the deep listening we need to hear our intuition isn’t often accessible. Spirit knows this and is prepared to initiate you into a new way of being.

How has your magic been stifled by an overworked & overwhelmed nervous system?

This is more than an invitation into self care; it is an invitation to recognize and address the patterns of your life that lead you to consistent exhaustion. Let Spirit surround you like water does when we submerge ourselves in and restore balance to your nervous system.

A baptismal pool is a portal into life-giving patterns of being.

And remember your pitcher when you go to the baptismal pool, because the water it catches will be yours to use as a tool to soothe yourself when you return to the frontlines of the revolution. Receive this gift from Spirit.

I invite you this week to do these things:

Submerge yourself in water either by taking a bath if that is available to you and/or drinking more water throughout the day
Begin the weekly ritual of self-baptism with the help of Divine waters (I use rose water for self-baptism and have mantras I repeat when I do so)
As your able make plans to visit a body of water (if you are in Chicago Qiddist and I will be along the lake front hosting a Medicated Mediation the morning of Sunday July 5th, this may be a good opportunity for you to enter the baptismal portal)
